Actions Supports cartilage metabolism. Contains three separate biological compounds: glucosamine is a precursor to the production of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), which form the major building blocks of cartilage and the lubricating fluid within the joint. Chondroitin sulfate is one of the main GAGs. Green lipped mussel powder is a source of GAGs and omega 3 fatty acids, including eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA). Indications Long-term treatment may help reduce noninfectious joint inflammation and may help in the relief of arthritic symptoms in dogs. Suitable for use in active or ageing dogs. Precautions Glyde can not be recommended as an alternative treatment in acute joint inflammation. Long-term treatment is required. Use in pregnant animals is not recommended, as safe use in pregnant animals has not been established. Dosage and Administration Dogs. The powder should be sprinkled on or mixed with food. A small amount of moist food is preferred to ensure that the entire amount is consumed. One level scoop = 5 mL (approximately 3 g). Initial administration. 1 scoop/10 kg bodyweight/day for four to six weeks. Maintenance dose. Half a scoop/10 kg bodyweight/day.
