It also appears to interfere with the musculature of the scolex such that the parasite loses its attachment to the gut wall. Pyrantel embonate interferes with the parasite's nervous system. Indications Gastrointestinal worms including roundworms (Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina), hookworms (Ancylostoma tubaeforme, A. caninum, A. braziliense, Uncinaria stenocephala), and tapeworms (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia taeniaeformis); in cats. Precautions Disposal Dispose of empty packaging in the household garbage. Dosage and Administration Administer orally on an empty stomach. Cats less than 2 kg: ½ tablet; 2.1 to 4 kg; 1 tablet; over 4 kg: 1 tablet/4 kg.
